2009 Albert Bichot Pinot Noir Vielles Vignes

2009 Albert Bichot Pinot Noir Vielles Vignes

I had this wine in Quebec at an outdoor party where it was paired with Dad’s Quebec Smoked Meat Sandwiches.

In the glass, this nicely-balanced wine is a medium red. The ripe cherry nose is fruity and bright. In the mouth, there is a nice level of acidity and cherries mix with strawberries on this light-medium bodied French Pinot Noir.

Pairings:  Salmon, pork, roast chicken or duck. Pairs well with most food.

Style: Red

Grape Type(s): Pinot Noir

Region: Burgundy, France

Price: $15

2007 Montagny 1er Cru Les Coeres Deux Montille Soeur et Frere

Paired this delicious wine with sea bass a few weekends ago and it was a great combination.  The 2007 Montagny 1er Cru Les Coeres is a classic example of white Burgundy.  It’s rich yet offers a nice level of acidity and minerality.  It’s floral with intense fruit on the palate but features a long crisp finish.  Just a beautiful example of what vignerons should do with Chardonnay.

Style: White Wine

Grape Type(s): Chardonnay

Region: Burgundy, France

'07 Albert Bichot Pinot Noir

Had this Burgundy at a dinner party hosted by my father in Quebec, Canada.  Hoping this wine is available in the USA as it’s a pretty nice example of French Pinot Noir at a very affordable price.

On the nose is a light fruity, fresh aroma.  On the palate is the typical black cherry, but unlike other Burgundies in this price point, there’s elegance, balance and a nice level of acidity with the 2007 Albert Bichot Pinot Noir.

Around $17.
