NJ Beer & Food Festival June 15-17 at Crystal Springs

The 9th Annual New Jersey Beer & Food Festival will take place on Father’s Day weekend, June 15-17, at Crystal Springs Resort (https://www.crystalgolfresort.com). Three days of festivities include pop-up beer tastings, a golf tournament, Father’s Day Brunch and the signature Beer Festival grand tasting with over 200 brews, open-fire cooked meats, live music and more.

On Friday June 15, the festivities kick off with pop-up beer tastings throughout the resort 3pm – 9pm and the launch party for Samuel Adams’ Sam ’76 release in the Crystal Tavern 10pm – 1am with Samuel Adams specials, live music and more.

Saturday June 16

On Saturday June 16, the Brews & Birdies golf tournament kicks off the day at 9am on Crystals Springs’ Wild Turkey course. The tournament will feature 18 holes of golf with craft beer tastings on select holes and prizes for the top scorers. Registration for the golf tournament can be made at GolfGenius.com and includes admission to the festival tasting later that day.

Saturday’s showcase event is the grand tasting from 3pm – 7pm under a soaring tent where beer aficionados can sample over 200 brews. Crystal Springs’ culinary team will grill delicious Berkshire pork, homemade sausages, pulled pork and more over open fire pits. Live music by The Benjamins. Activities for all ages include human foosball and hot air balloon rides. Tickets are $75 for general admission & $100 for VIP which includes early admission at 2pm.

Afterwards, the fun continues at the Festival After Party from 7pm – Midnight on the Biosphere Lawn with a live DJ, party games and a cash bar featuring Corona, Red Bull & Absolut Elyx.

On Sunday June 17 – Father’s Day – Dads who love beer and brunch can head to the Brews Brunch in the Chef’s Garden, which offers a unique “garden-to-table” al fresco dining experience. Guests will enjoy family style dishes paired with beers from Great Lakes Brewing. Two seatings are available at 10am and 12:30pm. The menu with beer pairings is $39 for Adults (tax & gratuity additional), food menu is $19 for kids 11 & under.

Now in its 9th year, the New Jersey Beer & Food Festival will once again take place at Crystal Springs Resort from June 16 – 18. Crystal Springs’ annual celebration of all things beer happens over Father’s Day Weekend with a Chefs & Brews Dinner, beer tasting featuring over 150 beers, a golf tournament and the Brews Brunch in the Chef’s Garden. Here are the details:

Friday 6/16

Chefs and Brews Dinner at 7pm featuring beer pairings from Jersey Girl Brewing Co., a local craft brewer from Mount Olive, NJ that launched in 2014. Executive Chef Anthony Bucco’s four-course menu features Mangalitsa Charcuterie with whisky soaked cherries, stout mustard and artisan breads; Berkshire Pork Belly with olives, pistachios and avocado; and Porcelet Porchetta with Pine Island potatoes, dandelion and romesco. For dessert, NJ Strawberries hit the sweet spot with lavender, shortbread and whipped yogurt. Dinner starts with a reception of passed canapés and beer cocktails. Tickets are $125.

Saturday 6/17

Brews & Birdies Tourney will be at 9am on the resort’s award-winning Wild Turkey course. The tournament will feature 18 holes of golf with stops for craft beer tastings on 4 different holes. Tickets are $195 and include admission to the Beer Festival tent. Registration for the golf tournament can be made at GolfGenius.com.

Crystal Springs’ culinary team will grill delicious Berkshire pork, grass-fed beef, lamb, free range chickens, rabbit and more over open fire pits. Popular cover band Lima Bean Riot is a perennial favorite returning to rock the house with everyone’s favorite hits. Tickets are $75 for 3pm admission ($100 for VIP; early 2pm entry); $35 for designated drivers.

Sunday 6/18

Brews Brunch will be in the Chef’s Garden, a unique “garden-to-table” al fresco dining experience. Guests will enjoy family style dishes like Wood-Fired Mushroom Frittata, Jerk Goffle Road Chicken, Smoked Berkshire Pork Shoulder, 7X Beef & Mangalitsa Sliders and more with growlers of beer. The full menu can be found here. There will be two seatings at 10am and 12:30pm. Brunch is $39 plus tax & gratuity ($19 for kids 4-12, free for 3 and under).

NJ-Beer-Fest-3-300x200The 8th New Jersey Beer & Food Festival will take place June 25-26 at Crystal Springs Resort at a new location on the corner of Route 94 and Wild Turkey Way. The festival will feature new events for 2016 including a second day of festivities for the first time. The two day extravaganza offers guests beer tastings under the big tent, a beer and chocolate seminar, yoga with beer tasting, golf tournament and more.

Saturday June 25

9AM – Brews & Birdies Tourney on two of Crystal Springs’ award-winning links, Wild Turkey and Ballyowen. The tournament will feature 18 holes of golf and craft beer tastings on 4 different holes. Prizes will be awarded to the winners on each course. Tickets are $195 for Wild Turkey and $205 for Ballyowen. Registration for the golf tournament can be made at GolfGenius.com. 9AM Hoppy Yoga class at the picturesque Crystal Springs Quarry and enjoy a tasting of Schofferhofer Grapefruit ($25) afterwards. 12PM – 2PM – “Chefs & Shorts” Lunch ($45) will be served in the lush Chef’s Garden. 12PM – Beer & Chocolate, a fun, interactive seminar and tasting will showcase a wide variety of beers including Keegan Mothers Milk, Atwater Vanilla Java Porter, Atwater Decadent Dark Chocolate Ale, Sam Adams Nitro Coffee and more ($20). 3PM – 7PM – NJ Beer & Food Festival tasting for adults 21 & over only. Sunday June 26

12PM – 4PM – NJ Beer & Food Festival family day. Along with being able to enjoy over 150 beers from around the world, families will be welcomed with rides and activities for kids of all ages. There will be a petting zoo, pony rides, three-legged races, face painting in more, while adults can carom off each other playing Knockerball and Human Foosball ($55).

NJ Beer Fest 3The New Jersey Beer & Food Festival takes place at Crystal Springs 6/14 – 6/15. This weekend-long celebration of craft beers also coincides with Father’s Day June 16 making it the perfect destination with something for everyone: beer lovers, golfers and families, with two top US ranked spas and the Biosphere indoor/outdoor pool complex as well.

The two days of beer fest events include the “NJ Chefs & Brews” walk-around reception on Friday 6/14 (8-11pm, $95), with six chefs serving food paired with six New Jersey and New York beers. Participating chefs include Timothy Fischer and pastry chef John Sauchelli of Crystal Springs, Mike Carrino of Pig & Prince Restaurant & Gastrolounge (Montclair), John Halligan of Park Steakhouse (Park Ridge), Carlo Carbonara of Bottagra (Hawthorne) and Eric Levine of Morris Tap & Grill (Randolph).

NJ Beer Fest 9On Saturday 6/15, the ” Beer and BBQ Fest” tasting event gives attendees the opportunity to try 135 beers from 50 breweries including many craft brews from New York and New Jersey paired with delicious barbeque in a picturesque outdoor setting (3pm-7pm, $75 early bird, $85 after June 1st).

Also on Saturday 6/15 starting at 9am golfers will have the chance to participate in the “Brews & Birdies” golf tournament on the resort’s award-winning Wild Turkey and Ballyowen courses. Tastings of craft beers will be available on six holes of the course ($195 for golf and beer tastings). Other activities include a free outdoor grilling class Sat. 6/15 10-11am by Crystal Springs chefs in the resort’s lovely Chef’s Garden and free daily tours of the wine cellar, which is the deepest, most extensive collection in the Northeast US situated in over an acre of underground space and featuring some of the most prized bottles, rare vintages and perfect score 100-point wines.

All weekend, the resort’s two main restaurants, Crystal Tavern and Restaurant Latour, will each be serving special tasting menus paired with craft beers. Crystal Tavern features a three-course “Highlands” menu while Restaurant Latour offers an eight-course tasting menu in addition to a three-course prix-fixe and a five-course vegetarian Garden Menu.

On Sunday 6/16, the beer festival will wrap up with a special Father’s Day Lunch 12-4pm in the Chef’s Garden, a beautiful outdoor restaurant surrounded by a lush garden full of herbs and vegetables used in the resort’s restaurants. Three chefs will each prepare a course that will be paired with a different craft beer ($70 inclusive of food and unlimited beer; lunch menus sans beer will be offered to those under 21).
