I Finally Won Something!

I Finally Won Something!

Weber GrillA couple of months ago, I entered the Jacob’s Creek Sip & Sizzle Grilling Contest sponsored by Pernod Ricard USA®, LLC. I’m a fan of Jacob’s Creek and its wines and have loved my Weber Silver and my Weber charcoal grills so I thought…why not?

Several weeks went by and I was contacted by the folks at Jacob’s Creek to let me know I was the Grand Prize Winner of the contest! How cool is that for someone who never wins anything!!?

What is my prize you might ask…a Weber Summit® S-670™ Grill valued at around $2,799.00!!!!!!!! Can you just picture what amazing foods I’ll be able to put out using that big, beautiful chrome baby!?

Jacob’s Creek’s constantly running fab Facebook contests so make sure you ‘like’ the Jacob’s Creek page so you can have a chance to win something amazing like I did….the girl who never USE to wine anything!

2010 DEADBOLT Winemakers Blend

2010 DEADBOLT Winemakers Blend

DeadBoltI had the pleasure to sip this really interesting wine alongside a grilled rib eye steak and absolutely loved it. The combination of lightly oaky, tannic Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the big bold flavors of Zin and the dark, ripe fruity, round flavors of Syrah and Petite Syrah produce a wine that satisfied my love for a big, beefy wine while showing finesse and elegance.

Chief Winemaker, Philip Laffer, says in a statement that “With DEADBOLT, we have created a richly flavored and approachable red wine which is quintessentially Californian. We are delighted with the final outcome”. Indeed he should be.

The wine is available is a limited number of states (California, Nevada, Illinois, Massachusetts and Colorado).

Pairings: Grilled beef or lamb, white cheddar macaroni and cheese.

Style: Red Wine.

Grape Type(s): Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Petite Syrah and Syrah blend.

Region: California, USA.

Price: $15.99.

This wine was provided to me for sampling and I am adding to my repertoire as it is truly enjoyable.
